"We support Ashdown Forest"
Ashdown Forest is a unique and very special place for residents, local communities and visitors - 6,500 acres of protected heathland and woodland, paths, rides and trails, hidden gardens, waterfalls, streams and magnificent views to the North and South Downs. Due in part to ever decreasing budget and grant cuts we are piloting a new fundraising scheme asking visitors to contribute voluntarily to support Ashdown Forest and help with the preservation of our amenity spaces and car parks.
The BBC recently featured a radio story about the funding cuts and how they might affect Ashdown Forest. You can listen to the seven and a half minute broadcast below:
Sussex Breakfast radio broadcast, 5 Feb 2019
Your donations will help with managing roadside trees, car park access sight lines, first aid, emergency response, grass verge and picnic area mowing, litter picking, resurfacing our car parks, barrier maintenance, signage and preserving the views of Forest.
It is now possible to support the Forest in the following ways:
ASHD001 to 70331 to give £3
ASHD001 to 70970 to give £5
ASHD001 to 70191 to give £10
We are hoping to raise £30,000 annually to support the Rangers. The Conservators of Ashdown Forest need to raise funds for this and for other charitable purposes on the Forest.
We appreciate all the support so many of you give us whether by volunteering, through donations or supporting events. Thank you!
Your donation will be processed and administered by the National Funding Scheme, operating as DONATE, a charity registered in England and Wales (1149800) and Scotland (SC045106). In addition to any text donation, you will incur your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates). For Terms & Conditions, see www.easydonate.org
