'STITCH n BITCH'

You may not know it but 2009 will be the Year of the Natural Fibre! - To get in gear for what could be an important set of events for Heathland Hebridean wool  the Forest Centre Ladies have arranged a monthly 'Stitch n Bitch'. For those who don't know - these sessions take place in hundreds of venues across the UK. Any one can come along with whatever fabric or wool handicraft that is 'on the go'.  We hope that you can join us - it could be lonely in the barn otherwise!

Nights are drawing in please bring a torch to get across the car-park!

Tea/Coffee is 20p in the donation tin please!

"Ashdown Forest - An Artist's View"

An Exhibition of Pastel Paintings by Juliet Murray
Come & see an exhibition of works in pastel by renowned local artist Juliete Murray.

Juliet’s very latest Forest paintings, including views of Camp Hill, Friends Clump, Ellison’s Pond and many others.  20% Commission on all sales will go towards improvements to the Information Barn at the Ashdown Forest Centre.

A POOH PERAMBULATION Exploring some areas of Ashdown Forest known so well by a famous bear and his friends.

Meet at Gills Lap car park, top of Kidds Hill, Ashdown Forest.  walk lead by Terry Owen, Global Adventures/Perambulations Walks.

AVE AMICUS!  MEET LEXICUS DEANICUS Come and meet a Roman soldier! Find out why Ashdown Forest was so important to the Romans and what it was like to be in the Legions.  A free fun event!

AMAZING ANCIENT ASHDOWN FOREST LIVING HISTORY WALK
A walk led by by costumed guides to meet the Forest's past inhabitants! This forms part of the Annual Festival of Archaeology.

MAIDEN OF THE WEALD Same Sky artist in residence building a Maiden of the Weald for Ashdown Forest (from wood and willow) at the Forest Centre.

ASHDOWN FOREST WALK Minibus from Uckfield town station. Return by minibus to Buxted station and pubs.  Wear stout shoes, can be muddy. Lunch can be bought in Buxted.

Meet at Uckfield train station.  Lead by Tim Sparrow Sussex Community Rail Partnership.
