1st & 2nd June 2013 14.00 to 17.30 - NGS Open Garden at Chestnut Farm - an opportunity to explore a naturalistic garden in the heart of Ashdown Forest. Diana Hurrell, a member of our Board, is opening her beautiful garden under the NGS Open Gardens Scheme to raise money for charity. Last year NGS raised £2.6 million for nursing and caring charities in the UK. A very worthy cause indeed. You can find out more here.

22nd June 2013 - Nightjar walk - an opportunity to take an evening time guided walk (20.30) on the Forest with one of our experienced birder volunteers to, hopefully, catch a glimpse of the elusive and mysterious Nightjar. At the least you will be able to hear their strange and haunting call! There is a small charge of £2.00 per person. Please wear sensible shoes and muted coloured clothes (no bright coats!) A warm jumper will be needed as it gets suprisingly chilly and, most importantly, bring a torch! You may also want to bring an insect repellent. Once gain, sorry, no dogs!. Call 01342 823583 to book a place and pay on the day. You will be advised of the meeting point when booking - THIS WALK IS NOW FULL.
