Mounted Volunteer on Patrol

Volunteer Rangers who can ride and have their own horse assist the Rangers at week-ends and during the week. Common tasks would be talking to riders who use the Forest without permits (handing out riding application forms etc), talking to cyclists who are breaking byelaws and keeping a watchful eye on grazing livestock. We ask that they commit to a certain number of hours per month and keep the office and Rangers informed as to when they are out on the Forest doing Ranger activities. We have been lucky enough to recruit twelve new mounted Rangers and are now operating a waiting list.
